Peace be upon you, my name is Rawaa Baner. I am 17 years old, and like many in Gaza, my life has been forever changed by the ongoing war and aggression.
I was living a peaceful and happy life in my warm home in Shuja’a with my family. I had dreams of completing my education, attending university, and pursuing the future I envisioned for myself. But in October, everything changed. The war began, and my family and I were forced to flee the only home we knew.
Our home was destroyed, and we were displaced multiple times. My family is now separated—some of us are in the south, while others remain in the north. I currently live in a makeshift tent that provides no protection from the scorching heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter. It’s not a home, just a fragile structure of wood and tarpaulin.
I turned 17 while living in this displacement, and my dreams of studying what I love at university feel more distant with every passing day. But I refuse to give up hope.
This campaign is to help my family and me rebuild our lives—to secure proper shelter, provide basic needs like food, water, and warmth, and allow me to continue my education. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to stability and gives me a chance to pursue my dreams once more.
